Zander Guy was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 1948 which is 30 miles from Topsail Island. His family always had a home on the island, and Zander spent many summers enjoying the nature the island offers. He was a lifeguard at Surf City campground, and worked on building houses that his father developed in the early 60s.

Zander attended Campbell University and received his real estate license in 1975. He also holds the prestigious designation of being a graduate of the Realtors Institute. After working in the family insurance/real estate business for many years in Jacksonville, he decided that he wanted to make Surf City his home. He is a visionary, and saw the opportunities that this island had to offer.

Since 1992, Zander has been involved not only in the Topsail Island Association of Realtors but also in his community. He firmly believes that service to humanity is the best work of life! He is an active member of the Topsail Island Kiwanis, the Cape Fear Community College Foundation Board, and the N.C. Banking Commission. He and his family are also active members of Faith Harbor United Methodist Church.

Teresa’s parents own a popular restaurant to the locals, Batson’s Galley Restaurant. She is married to Waymoth Batts who owns Old Land Development, and they have three sons.
